Students Visit UK Supreme Court

Students with Emily Darlington MP

A-level Politics debating students enjoyed an exciting and enriching trip to London where they visited the UK Supreme Court and had the unique opportunity to explore the courtrooms and even sit in the Justices’ chairs. They explored the small museum in the basement which gave them the opportunity to discuss the cases that they have studied and see court artefacts.  The day continued with a private guided tour of Parliament, where they also had the chance to watch the final of the school’s debate competition in an inspiring setting, as well as spend time discussing current political issues with their local MP, Emily Darlington. To round off the experience, students were led on a walking tour by their teacher, Ms Markatos, taking in iconic landmarks including Buckingham Palace, St James’s Park, and Westminster Abbey, helping to bring their studies of the monarchy and its relationship with Parliament to life.
