D & T Students Visit Accelera

Thank you to Tom Bulman at  Worktree who co-ordinated a visit to Accelera Cummins' New Power business segment  for an engineering work and job application skills day for 12 of our Year 12 A Level Design and Engineering students. 

The students were welcomed to the boardroom for an introduction to the company by senior staff, who also explained their own skills, job roles and personal career pathways. A tour of the Engineering research, development and building  laboratories was given, where state of the art rechargeable vehicle power cells are designed and made for large American vehicles such as trucks and Yellow School buses. A variety of activities were undertaken by the students. such as identifying their personal strengths, writing a CV, filling in a job application form and interviewing each other in teams alongside staff members.
