Marking The Coronation Through Service And Charity

Students and staff at St Paul's are marking the King's Coronation through service to the local community, fundraising for a local charity and a grand Coronation Bake Off competition.

On Wednesday 3rd May, student volunteers undertook a big litter pick around Leadenhall. They collected a great deal of rubbish, filling many bin bags, and even returned a parcel to a close neighbour that had been found in a bush!

We are also fundraising for NAWT Bedfordshire (formerly HULA), the Aspley Guise based rescue and rehoming charity that has been helping animals and their owners since the 1970s. The charity takes care of around 1200 animals a year and works towards a world where every pet thrives in a loving home.

We will be having a shoebox styled collection for the charity with each form bringing in animals toys, treat and blankets to donate to NAWT.

Our third activity is our Coronation Bake Off where students and staff are invited to bake cakes (individually, in pairs or in a small group) and bring them in to school on Tuesday 9th May to be judged. Cakes will be judged on appearance, taste, texture, creativity and overall celebration of the King's Coronation. There will be year group winners and an overall winner. Slices of cake will then be sold during second break with the proceeds donated to NAWT.
