Year 10 Textiles students have been putting their sewing skills to good use when they created a range of garments for children living in poverty around the world.

In a school project entitled ‘dress a child around the world’ our students have been creating dresses and shorts which will be sent to the children’s charity Dress a Girl Around the World – UK. Students have dyed their garments, chosen embellishments for them and sewed the pieces to create colourful and practical garments.

Mrs Martin, Teacher of Design and Technology, said: “Year 10 have done an amazing job and are rightfully very proud of what they have accomplished.”

The clothes will be sent to the charity who will arrange for them to be distributed to children around the world.
