Students Learn How US Court Works

Jacob Wagner

In March, Jacob Wagner, a former standout student of Ms Markatos in the USA, spoke virtually to the A-Level Politics students about separation of powers and federalism in the US justice system.  Mr Wagner is a deputy clerk for the Federal District Court in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The students were able to learn about how the US court works and how the job of being a clerk is a great way to help people!  Mr Wagner was very receptive to the students' questions and was impressed by their knowledge and understanding of the US court system.  Equally the students were very engaged with Mr Wagner’s presentation and found it wonderful to be able to speak to a former student who has been so successful in the judicial system.  Ms Markatos is very pleased that her students were able to speak to such an inspiring person and the students have asked to have him back again!
