Return To The Classroom For Parents!

Language students with Mrs Wilson

Our Year 11 students will be taking their French GCSE exams in just eight months’ time, so our MFL Department is offering a unique and fun way to help families support their children with a ‘Return to the classroom for parents!’ session.

Taking place on Thursday 19th September between 6pm and 7pm in room B207, Year 11 parents are invited to come and learn some French with Head of Languages, Mrs Julia Wilson.  Mrs Wilson explained:  “There’s no need to worry – you don’t need to know any French and you don’t need to be good at languages.  Our objective is to share with you some of the techniques we use in the classroom and how we advise students to revise at home.”

This is a great opportunity for parents to learn a language and to see what we expect their children to be doing at home between now and the exams.  Parents can learn some French, eat some snacks and have lots of fun in the process.  Year 11 French students are invited to attend with their parents too.

Mrs Wilson added:  “Students whose parents attended last year’s session were our highest attainers, so I would warmly encourage parents to come along.  I know that everyone who came along last year had a great time.”

Invitation letters have been sent out via In Touch and are also being handed out by French teachers.  Please ask your child to give you a copy of their letter.

Further ‘Return to the classroom for parents!’ sessions will be run in Italian, German and Spanish.
