New Service Supports Recruitment Into Education

St Paul's Catholic School in Milton Keynes has launched an innovative new service to help schools, and people who want to work in education, make their recruitment experience the best it can possibly be.  RISE, operated by education specialists at St. Paul’s, actively recruits, trains and supports potential candidates and offers tailored introductions to schools.

Candidates, seeking employment as teaching or support staff, can register with RISE’s online Talent Pool and are contacted as soon as an appropriate vacancy becomes available.  They can also benefit from expert advice on low cost, accessible training opportunities and guidance on how to become an even more attractive candidate for future employers.

For schools RISE offers an upfront, competitive introduction fee, with an assurance that every school using the service will be introduced to the most suitable candidate for their pupils and that an on-going training programme is available to candidates if required.

Another benefit RISE can offer teachers moving into Milton Keynes is the provision of temporary, low cost accommodation.  The RISE service aims to help those returning into the education sector, those who are looking to start their careers and those who are just ready for a change.

Jo-Anne Hoarty, Headteacher at St. Paul’s, said:  “RISE is run by passionate and experienced education professionals and we hold children at the centre of the service we provide.  We are really excited that so many of our local schools have already shown an interest in supporting RISE and truly believe that we can offer a unique experience for them and for candidates by supporting the employment market for education.”

Mac Heath, Director of Children’s Services at Milton Keynes Council, said:  “We are fully supportive of this new and exciting service which is being offered by St. Paul’s and are pleased to have been involved in its development.  This is another great example of innovation in Milton Keynes.”

Jo-Anne added:  “As an established secondary school it became apparent that the education recruitment market was becoming increasingly challenging.  As a result we and other schools were finding the need to contact recruitment agencies for support meaning that alarming amounts of schools’ already stretched budgets were being spent on recruitment.  RISE will help schools manage their recruitment budgets more effectively so that, hopefully, more of our budgets can be spent on helping the children in our schools.”
