New Clubs Launched for Lent Term

Jo Hoarty's knitting club

We're launching an exciting range of clubs and activities for students to enjoy during the Lent Term.  There are over 60 different sessions on offer ranging from homework clubs, to sporting and fitness activities, music, craft and technology clubs, amongst others.

Headteacher Mrs Hoarty is sharing her love of knitting in a new knitting club where pupils can learn to make squares or animals.   Dance specialists Motus will be giving dance training, we have a new boxing club and there are also running and trampolining clubs.  Also new is a CAD club where you can learn about computer aided design and 3D printing.

Musicians can join our composition, orchestra, guitar or ukulele clubs and we have a very popular Post 16 vocal group too.  There is a club for visually impaired students who want to develop independent living skills such as cooking and first aid and participate in VI sports and games.  We also have a club for students who would like to learn how to use British Sign Language.

Paul Tillman, Assistant Headteacher, said:  “We have aimed to provide curriculum enhancement with clubs that support pupils on particular courses, subject areas or year groups as well as curriculum enrichment where staff can share their passions, hobbies and interests.  Do take a look at the website, see what’s on offer and encourage your children to participate in these fantastic opportunities.”
