Increase In Top Grades At GCSE

Students on GCSE Results Day

GCSE students at St Paul’s Catholic School are celebrating success with GCSE results today.  In both Maths and English more pupils have achieved the top Grades, 7 and above, this year.  A significant achievement was the number of Grade 9s awarded in the new reformed GCSE examinations.

Commenting on the results Jo-Anne Hoarty, Headteacher at St Paul’s Catholic School, said:  “We are very pleased that the hard work and dedication of students and staff has been rewarded with these results.  It is terrific that we have managed to secure an increase in the top Grades during a time of significant change at GCSE.  The success is down to the commitment of students and the fantastic support and guidance they have had from parents and staff.”

Particular congratulations go to James Brady, Shafiqul Haque, Georgina Hills, Imogen Kingsman, Sarafina Otis, Anna Parkin, Isobel Richardson and Abirami Loganathan who all achieved a significant number of Grade 8s and Grade 9s.

Last week many students at St Paul’s Catholic School also achieved excellent results in their A-Level examinations, with 65% achieving Grades A* - C.
