As a Catholic community which bears a living witness to our faith St Paul’s has an active Chaplaincy team that seeks to recognise the developing spiritual needs of the young people we serve. Our chaplaincy provision seeks to respond appropriately to provide all students, from any faith or no faith, with opportunities to receive opportunities to develop their whole person and spirituality. We ensure our students are given a plethora of opportunities to live out our mission statement to love serve and do the best that is possible.
We are fortunate at St Paul’s that our current model of chaplaincy provision allows each year group to have a designated Pastoral/Chaplaincy Leader who is responsible for chaplaincy provision within the year group. This team is overseen and managed by our lead Chaplain.
The Rhythm Of The School Day
Students start each day with collective worship in form time where they pray together as a tutor group. Prayers will reflect the liturgical calendar.
We have a prayer bell which sounds throughout the whole school at the end of the day to signal our coming together as a school to pray at the end of the day.
We have excellent partnerships with our local parishes and embrace working collaboratively with our local churches. Most recently some of our students were involved in creating stained glass windows for one of our parish churches.
Our school priest regularly visits to say Mass with our students at our whole school Mass.
It is important that young people have the opportunity to take responsibility for their faith, therefore we offer activities out of school for pupils to engage with the Church and wider Catholic Community through our Ministerium Award.
