Mission Statement

St. Paul's is a community that has Christ as its foundation.  We believe that it should be possible to meet Christ in all aspects of the life of the school and this underpins all of our work. You can find out more here.

The Chapel

Pupils in chapelThe Chapel is a beautiful sacred space in our school that offers the whole community a place of prayer.

The Blessed Sacrament is reserved in the chapel, making it a very special place in our school.

Small group prayer and worship are celebrated here, and it is used for reflections in RE lessons and for prayer stations during key points of the liturgical year.

Our Chapel is an inclusive place and is available for students looking for quiet or who wish to pray during breaks and lunch times.

We are lucky to have a class seating area in the Chapel along with cushions that can be used for meditation. We have a beautiful hand crafted altar and artwork which provide focal points for our prayer and worship.

Tutor Saints

You can find information on our school saints here.

Catholic Basics

We have produced information to give you a brief introduction to some of the basic key aspects of Catholic theology that students will encounter whilst at St Paul's. You can find this here.

Charity and Service

We hold a number of dedicated periods of fundraising throughout the school year.  During Advent, Lent and in the Pentecost term.  During our Advent Term our focus is CAFOD.  Students decide on World Gifts they wish to purchase with the monies they raise.  During the Lenten period each year group selects a chosen charity to raise money for and in the Pentecost Term a charity is selected from those offered by the students that holds a particular resonance with the school community.  In addition to this we support CAFOD Harvest Day and the Milton Keynes Foodbank.

Sixth Form Leaders

A Sixth Form Student Leader is a leadership position with the Sixth Form, whole school and Milton Keynes Community. They play a vital role as ambassadors for the Sixth Form and school at internal and external events. Sith Form Student Leaders take part in and help to organise a variety of events and support staff, students and the local community. Some examples include; open evenings, mentoring days, school tours, community projects, working in the school reception, masses, information and awards evenings, library and canteen support, governor meetings – to name a few.  Sixth Form Student Leaders are appointment through an application and interview process.

Service lower school

Chaplaincy Reps are selected by their own tutor groups and meet regularly with their respective chaplaincy leads to discuss Chaplaincy opportunities and fundraising opportunities.  Badges have now been issued to Chaplaincy Reps so that they can be readily identified by other students.

Faith in Action Day

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Hebrews 13:1-2

Faith in Action Day

Faith in Action Day is an annual event organised by the RE Department that is open to invited Year 10 pupils from Catholic schools across the Diocese. It brings together representatives from various groups including the Columbans, CAFOD and other charities to focus on our vocatoin to "welcome the stranger". We consider the lived experience of refugees by inviting people with real experience of the asylum system and how we can respond in meaningful action as individuals. It is a moving and challenging day which makes a profound impact on everyone who is involved!

Life of Christ

Life of ChristThe greatest story of all time is movingly recreated with authentic detail, outstanding quality sound and music. The Life of Christ is a passion play that is both educational and entertaining, amusing and serious. Hundreds of actors bring the story of Jesus to life in an open-air epic production.  St Paul’s has been supporting the “Life of Christ” for over ten years and every year we are able to a selection of students from Year 7, 8 and 9.

Taize

Taizé in France is an extraordinary place – quite different from anywhere else. Someone once said it combines a religious monastery with the feel of a very large youth camp. “You may arrive at Taizé behind German and Spanish, Swedish and Czech, French and Polish vehicles. But the spirit of openness, solidarity and encounter overcomes any barriers you might expect.  Students who visit Taize will join students from UK schools, and young people from all over Europe. Young people of different backgrounds meet at Taizé: those who are Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, believers of other religions, and those of no faith. The meetings at Taizé are about searching, listening and thinking about what it means to be a human being, and how we can do something to bring justice, peace and hope to our world. Students camp, eat out of plastic bowls, stay up late and spend amazing amounts of time singing and talking and sharing. No one who has been to Taizé comes back unchanged.

CAFOD Young Leaders

St Paul’s has participated in the CAFOD Young Leader programme since it’s inception in 2023.  The students who volunteer for the programme will.

  • Learn about the work of CAFOD and promote social justice issues throughout their time as a CAFOD Young Leader.
  • Develop their skills as a leader by taking part in and helping to organise CAFOD activities in your school / parish community.
  • Work with others in school and agree to follow the advice of the sixth form team in planning and producing resources and events under the banner of CAFOD Young Leadership Challenges.
  • Follow CAFOD’s advice in relation to communicating CAFOD’s work with others; either face to face, written communication or social media networks and feed back to CAFOD on the volunteer activities they have been involved with.

Diversity in Community

Culture DayCulture Day is a yearly celebration of the diversity of cultures and ethnicities that we find within the St Paul’s community. It is one of the true reflections of the notion of a “catholic” school as we aim to allow a universal appreciation of all members of our school. Through this day, and the week leading to it, students will have the opportunity to experience foods and activities that express the variety of nations found within our school.

Supporting our Catholic Primary Schools

St Paul's student at primary schoolSt Paul’s has five Catholic feeder schools. We work closely with the schools on many things. The primary school student councils come to St Paul’s to work with our council and student leaders.

We support Friends mission at St Bernadettes where pupils at St Paul’s who attended St Bernadette’s return and help lead activities for pupils and their families. Former students of our Catholic feeder school often visit to support with events such as fetes, summer concerts and sports days. Our Sports Leaders support with the regular attendance of our Catholic primary pupils at various sporting events at St Paul’s which include a Catholic Schools Day where all of our Catholic feeder schools participate.
