Induction and Transition

You are embarking on an exciting and important phase of your education and to support your transition to Sixth Form we have devised a full programme of induction before you start in September and during the first weeks of term.

In June before you start, you will be invited to induction events which will showcase what is offered to Sixth Form students not just academically but also our varied enrichment programme which will make learning enjoyable and rewarding.  This year's induction events are taking place on:

Thursday 29th June - New external students and Level 2 Business Induction Morning

Friday 30th June - New and returning students - full Year 12 Induction

Monday 3rd July (10am - 12 noon) - Student advice drop in clinic. Pupils and parents are welcome to drop in any time during this session if they have any further questions or require more information about Sixth Form.

You will be expected to undertake independent course preparation activities over the summer holidays which will help to bridge the gap between GCSE and A-level or BTEC learning. You can find details of all summer work here

When you get your GCSE results in the summer you will have additional opportunities to talk to the Sixth Form team to confirm your choices.  GCSE results day is on Thursday 24th August.

New students (who are joining St Paul's from another school) are invited to come to the school to confirm their choices and submit their GCSE results on Friday 25th August from 10.30am.

From September, transition will be supported in terms of:

- meeting increased academic challenge

- managing your time and workload

- independent study and study skills
