Students at St Paul’s Catholic School celebrated another strong performance on A-Level results day with 62% achieving grades A* - C.  The overall A-Level pass rate for the school was 98%.  For those taking BTEC National Vocational courses, 60% gained a Distinction or Distinction*.

Jo-Anne Hoarty, Headteacher at St Paul’s Catholic School, said:  “Students have worked extremely hard for these results and we are delighted that so many of them will now achieve their dream of going on to a university or apprenticeship.  Once again the progress made by our A-Level students is very positive.”

As a result of their achievements, St Paul’s students will be going on to study at universities around the UK, with an ever increasing number electing to go to Russell Group universities.  A growing number of our students have gained places on prestigious Degree level apprenticeships and school leaver programmes, illustrating the diverse range of opportunities that we prepare our students for.

Jo-Anne added:  “It is very pleasing to note that we achieved our best ever results in the Extended Project, with 48% of the students who did Extended Project alongside their A-Levels gaining an A* or A.  The Extended Project gives them the wider skills to help them succeed in A-Level courses and prepare them for the world of work.  It is highly valued by both universities and employers.

“We are very proud of all our students and particular congratulations go to Aleksandra Lubas who achieved six A* - A grades at A-Level, and Max Johnson, Hannah Huxtable, Sandra Bargiela, Wiktoria Kijowska and Julia Korytowska who achieved 4 A* - A grades.”
